EME Aero – new investment on the air map of the Podkarpacie region
On the March, the company bought the land for the construction of the plant in the municipality of Trzebownisko which was notarielly certified today. The new investment is planned in the vicinity of other entities operating in the technological industries. The company gradually plans to employ around 800 people from a variety of branches. There will be work both for the aviation mechanics, certifying staff as well as non-destructive testing personnel. Also, administrative staff will be desirable. The emergence of such an entity also equals to development of a wide network of small and medium-sized companies as well as suppliers who will cooperate with EME Aero as subcontractors. These companies will implement a variety of services for the new plant, which will have an impact on the formation of hundreds of subsequent jobs in industries that are not directly connected with aviation. These entities – subcontractors will generate additional income to local budgets, and thus will indirectly contribute to the development of local communities. It is a very good information for the local communities that this investment will employ a few hundred people. That will also create opportunities for the local companies to cooperate with EME Aero. We are pleased, that we have appropriate conditions, that induced this international concern to choose district of Trzebownisko – added the Major of Trzebownisko, Lesław Kuźniar.
The company will be headed up by project leader Derrick Siebert (CEO) from Lufthansa Technik AG and by Dr. Uwe Zachau (COO), his counterpart at MTU Aero Engines AG. The facility is slated to be up and running in 2020. The planned annual capacity is over 400 shop visits of PW1000G-series geared turbofans, which power the Airbus A320neo family of aircraft and other airliners.
Attracting and implementing technologically advanced enterprises in Poland that generate benefits for citizens and our economy is one of the most important priorities of the government. This is the latest investment by EMA Aero – said minister of entrepreneurship and technology Jadwiga Emilewicz. – Global companies are increasingly choosing Poland as a place to invest. This confirms the good investment climate in our country and proves that the changes proposed by the government brings results – notes minister Emilewicz.
Acquiring such a prestigious investment is a great success for the province. The scale of investments and new technologies that will be implemented in the new plant will have an impact on the economic development of the entire region. The voivodship self-government actively supported the investor at every stage of the location decision – remarked Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. – The Investors and Exporters Service Center, which operates at the Marshal Office from the very beginning, was involved in comprehensive investor service, from the moment of seeking an investment plot. The Center also supported the activities of local self-government and other entities, which translated into presenting the company with an attractive investment offer in the voivodship. The voivodship authorities make every effort to create a positive climate for investors and I am very happy that our actions have brought such a positive effect. The fact that we managed to attract such a significant investment to the region proves the great potential voivodships and I hope that this success will contribute to attracting further large investors – added the Marshal Władysław Ortyl.
EME Aero will deal with servicing of aircraft engines while maintaining modern safety systems for people and the environment. The plant will implement solutions in terms of technology, quality and environmental standards. – emphasizes Dr. Uwe Zachau, member of the Board of EME Aero. Our goal is to build one of the most modern plants in the aviation industry in Europe. It will be a service and repair centre of aircraft engines. We also plan to form a training centre, where the future employees will raise their qualifications and skills. – summarizes Derrick Siebert, member of the Board of EME Aero. Until the construction of the plant is completed, the company will have its headquarters in the Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park in Jasionka.
The company has been supported by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency from the very beginning of the investment process dated November 2016. Despite such competitors as Thailand or Lithuania, Poland’s competitive advantages in terms of technological competence, as well as the strength of the Polish aviation sector, have determined the investor’s attention towards us. We believe that this move will soon bring tangible benefits for the investor and will become a lever for further development of the region – comments Krzysztof Senger, PAIH vice president.
The key objectives of the Investor are quality and safety, but also the attention to the development of the region and engaging in the life of the local community.
